Prompt #65 Girl, bed and bear
Girl, bed and bear
We Write Poems:
Do we love image driven poems? Yes we do! (That includes you too, doesn’t it? Oh yes, please say yes!) This week a photographic prompt to celebrate this image we’re calling “girl with bed and bear”. Please write whatever comes to mind for you from this image (time for a little free association now). Make it as tame or wild as you see the story here. Have fun! Grrr…
Next week we’ll be back with yet more of our fine community written prompts!
Come back next Wednesday when you see, “It’s Post Your Poems Day!” and leave a link to the poem on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, then please, post your poem in the comment itself. *** You are invited to respond to the prompt given here, but if you have something else you’re just itching to share, please feel welcome in doing that. Our first desire here is to encourage you to write and learn and share. *** When leaving comments to other’s poems, please be appreciative and encouraging. We are not a poem “critique” site (unless someone specifically asks for that). Be kind with each other (and yourself!). *** Please consider including a link with your blog poem back to the prompt response here at We Write Poems so that others may see and join our community. More participants do make better soup!

An intriguing shot. I’d like to know its history!
Got a kick out of this on not without poetry.
Guess I’ll have to write a serious answer this time.
This was a great photo! Nice challenge!

Howdy! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a team of volunteers and starting a new initiative in a community in the same niche.
Your blog provided us valuable information to work on. You have done
a outstanding job!
I see this image all the time and love it, but nobody cares enough to share who the photographer of image maker was! I find that very sad.
I’ve seen this one as a prompt before during one of the April challenges, but had still not been able to find out more than that it was the cover of a book Bear, by Canadian writer, Marian Engel, written in 1976. Today though, I found a Wikipedia article on the book indicates the original cover may have been by illustrator Fred Pfeiffer. The cover photo started getting a lot of attention in 2014 as a meme. There is both a biographical entry and a separate entry for the book itself on Wikipedia. — Carol
