    Absolutely. ♥ Bringer of Light…

    Heroes and cowards

How easily we do project onto the image set,
our heroes and our cowards, our saints and devils yet,
denying that humanity is found in each of us,
the best, the worst, the middle – it has been ever thus.

  4. December 16, 2013 2:34 pm for the picture that inspired these words:

    We said goodbye this week
to a man who brought light
    to a dark continent.
    May his flame remain
    and grow.

when some of us smile I suspect an agenda unspoken, maybe a little discomfort or even fear wearing that cloak of “please don’t see me” or “keep your distance, please”. when some others of us smile, admitted it seems the fewer, although thank God there are indeed some, what I see is a radiance whose source is everywhere. what I mean is not like they are the source of the light but rather that they welcome it within their being – as well any of us standing so close and being willing to “see”. their smile says that they are “right with the world” and being right is not solely a function of ephemeral exterior results but a quality of beingness, of light standing in light. at the least I can see it is possible then even for me, or better, that my life too is right within the world just as we are. now that is worth a celebration!

that is the gift we were always meant to receive.

Great philosophising, Neil. A toast to radiance!
