Prompt #120, It’s Post Your Poems Day!

August 29, 2012

Colour us a poem!

We Write Poems:

Our prompt this week was seeded by that fine quote from John O’Donohue’s book, Beauty, The Invisible Embrace.

As Julie suggested, more than simply writing a poem “about” color, instead, take to the phrase, “colour a poem”.  Hope you found your colored crayon sets and made good play with this idea.  Other than this one focus, all else was up to you as to form and content of your poem this week.

Good coloring:, our wish for you!  Time now please to share your poetic poem picture with us here.

Thanks again Julie, for this great quote and prompt!
Don’t have a poem yet? Perhaps read a few done by others here, be inspired. There’s still plenty of time to discover a poem for yourself!

Leave the links to your poems in the comments of this post, then go visit your fellow writers’ sites and read their work. Remember to leave only positive comments in the spirit of sharing and not critiquing. We look forward to reading your poems!

Please remember to include a link with your blog poem post that links right back to here, this “Post Your Poems Day”, so that others reading your poem can also share in this community poem experience – maybe even someone new to We Write Poems!

If you are new to WWP, please be welcome to look around and read. The full prompt description you can find under “Recent Posts” on the top right of our page.

I am not sure if this qualifies – I’ve written ‘colorless’ for a color theme

  11. August 29, 2012 6:36 am

Did some small poems in one color

  12. August 29, 2012 6:41 am

  14. August 29, 2012 9:32 am

This was written to a Trifecta prompt but with the idea of color from this prompt playing as well.

  16. August 29, 2012 12:05 pm

    Fun prompt! Mine is up.

  17. August 29, 2012 12:38 pm

I’ve had a rough few weeks caring for my mother-in-law in Denmark who’s unwell with cancer. This one is rooted in that, and the loss that I feel.
