Prompt #119, It’s Post Your Poems Day!
This reminds me…
a community poem prompt
We Write Poems:
Write a poem without your shoes and socks, a study in bare feet. This prompt came to being illuminated by the story “Big Fish” (movie and book) in which the primary character’s life narrative, however imagined or real, often begins with the line, “This reminds me.”
Read the quote from the prompt post to refresh yourself if you wish.
Shoes and socks seem such unimportant articles to determine the content of a life, and yet, how much more intimate are we with the story and even imagination of our lives when our connection is literal and physical. So what “story” poem did you spin for us to read?
With thanks again to our mystery prompt contributor this week. Well done we think!
Don’t have a poem yet? Perhaps read a few done by others here, be inspired. There’s still plenty of time to discover a poem for yourself!
Leave the links to your poems in the comments of this post, then go visit your fellow writers’ sites and read their work. Remember to leave only positive comments in the spirit of sharing and not critiquing. We look forward to reading your poems!
Please remember to include a link with your blog poem post that links right back to here, this “Post Your Poems Day”, so that others reading your poem can also share in this community poem experience – maybe even someone new to We Write Poems!
If you are new to WWP, please be welcome to look around and read. The full prompt description you can find under “Recent Posts” on the top right of our page.

This reminds me of how these words make everyone squirm with anticipation mixed with fear.

Hello all!! Great prompt! 🙂
This week I deliver my Wrecking Ball Missive.

Great idea. My http://wp.me/pdTja-3K7 is more of an idea for a response to it than a real poem, though.
Lately, everything reminds me of my roots and home. This prompt evoked nothing less. Thanks for the nudge homeward…

A bit of swiss cheese (drafty I mean). A work in progress, as they say. But I liked the prompt (and at least one part of what arrived for me).
About feet
This was a wonderful prompt, and it indeed took me to a place near water where I took off my shoes and socks… a study in bare feet. It reminded me of the camping trip. Sorry I’m late. I forgot what day it was!
I am incredibly relieved to find out that there’s still some fantastic content online. I’ve
gotten fed up with google giving me junk.
I needed to thank you for this fantastic read!
! I definitely loved every little bit of it. I’ve got you bookmarked to look at new things you post…
