Prompt #102 Poem spirits

April 12, 2012

Poem spirits!

We Write Poems:
Nearing half-way in our April poem fingerspelling now!  Here’s perhaps something to lighten your way, and our next weekly prompt.  Write a “spiritual” poem.  You have some sense of what spirit means, and that’s what we mean – what you think spirit means.  You define what and how your poem will address this understanding we each carry in our pockets.  Think “like clay” upon your poem potter’s wheel.  Is it the spirit of existence and life, the poem-spirit that lives in your fingertips, or the spirit that asks, why did the chicken cross the road?

There!  We don’t want to overly tax your thoughts right now, but suspect these feelings and understandings you already really know for yourself.  Now let them make words for you to share.

Good April poeming to us all.

And we know you still discovering your poem feet, but if you have another “prompt” in mind or two, we’re yet open to your ideas (like Prompt #100 is) and feel free to throw another prompt or two upon that fire.  We’ll keep listening.

Come back next Wednesday when you see,It’s Post Your Poems Day!” and leave a link to the poem on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, then please, post your poem in the comment itself. *** You are invited to respond to the prompt given here, but if you have something else you’re just itching to share, please feel welcome in doing that. Our first desire here is to encourage you to write and learn and share. *** When leaving comments to other’s poems, please be appreciative and encouraging. We are not a poem “critique” site (unless someone specifically asks for that). Be kind with each other (and yourself!). *** Please consider including a link with your blog poem back to the prompt response here at We Write Poems so that others may see and join our community. More participants do make better soup!
