National Poetry Writing Month, April 2012

We Write Poems:
It’s National Poetry Month!  Read our start up posting to learn what we’re doing here.  If you haven’t started yet, today’s just fine to begin.

Poem Day number Seven!  Link your poems or comments below!

Poems don’t just happen. They are luckily or stealthily related to a readiness within ourselves. A good rule is don’t respond unless you have to. But when you find you do have a response – trust it. It has a meaning.

For Day #7 the theme is “Forgive” over at The April Heights, and I’ve written two pieces:

    “Six Takes on ‘Forgive'”

    and

    “Will She Forgive Us?”

    Welcome, and happy reading! 🙂

Apologies for not getting much poetry reading done – from my hospital bed the connection if dodgy at best. Here’s my latest off prompt offering: http://vivinfrance.wordpress.com/2012/04/07/napowrimo-day-7/ and I managed some haiku yesterday.

No apologies needed, Viv. The fact that you’re writing poems from the hospital bed, that’s so inspiring and fabulous.

    New Heart Trio (of Elfje)
    April 7, 2012
    whisper
    new friends
    he and she
    new romance, secret smiles
    lovers?

    traditions
    family meal
    meet the relatives
    on their home turf
    brave

    relief
    familiar faces
    hop right in
    learning, discovering, sharing laughter
    acceptance

Process notes: The youngest brought the ‘new’ gal home for dinner. Only after a few months of dating – and though most of us had met her before, it was nice that she came to the ‘holiday’ meal, brave indeed. Can any of us remember how we survived that first meeting of our potential
(OK maybe I’m jumping the gun on this just a tad…*a mother can hope can’t she!) – in-laws?
