Prompt #100 Poet’s choice!

March 29, 2012

Poet’s choice!

our community poem-prompt prompt

We Write Poems:
Welcome to our We Write Poems 100th prompt!  And what’s more fitting than having this be our next continuing request for you to say what our future poem prompts will address.  We yet have a couple waiting prompts in our pocket, but time again for more community suggestions to carry into the months ahead.  And this will also be our nod to the coming April National Poetry Month!  (click on the class-image if you haven’t already seen our 100th prompt thank you & appreciation post)

So what poem prompt would you like to suggest for us to present?  Here’s what we’d like you to do.  First, write a few sentences to describe your prompt idea (or as much more as you feel necessary).  Then second, write your own poem to that prompt by way of example for us, and that will be your poem to share for this coming week.  Simple huh?

Your dance!  Your prompt to say, whatever kind and idea that might be!  What kind of poems do you most like to write, what poem forms or what poem topics?  Or perhaps what kind of poem seems most a challenge to you, something you’re even unsure how to do – wouldn’t that also be great to suggest!

And for you poets just itching with prompt ideas (both new and old), write us anytime using the left-hand link, “Email Us, Submit a Prompt”.  We love hearing your ideas!

Come back next Wednesday when you see,It’s Post Your Poems Day!” and leave a link to the poem and prompt idea on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, then please, post your poem in the comment itself. *** You are invited to respond to the prompt given here, but if you have something else you’re just itching to share, please feel welcome in doing that. Our first desire here is to encourage you to write and learn and share. *** When leaving comments to other’s poems, please be appreciative and encouraging. We are not a poem “critique” site (unless someone specifically asks for that). Be kind with each other (and yourself!). *** Please consider including a link with your blog poem back to the prompt response here at We Write Poems so that others may see and join our community. More participants do make better soup!
