Prompt #91, It’s Post Your Poems Day!

February 1, 2012

Kissing the ceiling

We Write Poems:
This week we had a photographic image to tickle our writing thumbs out of the ordinary!  While this image, entitled “Kissing the Ceiling”, contains no single or specific elements that are at all out the the ordinary – their gathered relationship, with some intended whimsy, invites our imagination to take wing into unexpected landscapes.  What sense does this image make?  You know that’s what our minds are oft in the business of doing – making sense of associations.  Yet the image unsettles that task.  Maybe like when as a child and before some adult said, “behave”, don’t see, don’t think like that!  Leastwise that’s the window we hope became ajar for you.

We eagerly await now your poetic results!

Don’t have a poem yet? Perhaps read a few done by others here, be inspired. There’s still plenty of time to discover a poem for yourself!

Leave the links to your poems in the comments of this post, then go visit your fellow writers’ sites and read their work. Remember to leave only positive comments in the spirit of sharing and not critiquing. We look forward to reading your poems!

Please remember to include a link with your blog poem post that links right back to here, this “Post Your Poems Day”, so that others reading your poem can also share in this community poem experience – maybe even someone new to We Write Poems!

If you are new to WWP, please be welcome to look around and read. The full prompt description you can find under “Recent Posts” on the top right of our page.

Didn’t follow the prompt this week, although this piece did emerge from an image in my mind… a particularly emotional and dark one, too.

Don’t ask me why, but the photo gave me flashbacks to the sixties with visions of flaming guitars. In a nice way.
