Prompt #75 Poems and Prompts

Poems and Prompts

We Write Poems:
First, thank you all for your participation in our initial community suggested poem prompts!  We think it has been one of the best things we’ve ever done here at We Write Poems.  And you guys made it all possible.  Thanks!

So please, put on your writer’s hats and lets do it again.  So this coming week think about a poem prompt you would like to write yourself and also share with the rest of us.  Write a poem to that prompt.  Then next week please share both your poem and a description of the prompt itself.  The poem prompt can be something just for fun (we love fun!) or something challenging in either topic or form (we love challenges!).  Really, be as creative as you can imagine to be – the reins are in your hands!

Please remember to include the “prompt description”.  Some folks omitted that last time around, and no description means no prompt.  And we’d like to include as many of your prompts as doable.  (And no, don’t fret about the precise text of the description.  We’ll be happy to do a little editing along the way.)

OK, go have fun!  We’ll see you all next Wednesday.

Come back next Wednesday when you see,It’s Post Your Poems Day!” and leave a link to the poem on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, then please, post your poem in the comment itself.    ***    You are invited to respond to the prompt given here, but if you have something else you’re just itching to share, please feel welcome in doing that. Our first desire here is to encourage you to write and learn and share.    ***    When leaving comments to other’s poems, please be appreciative and encouraging. We are not a poem “critique” site (unless someone specifically asks for that). Be kind with each other (and yourself!).    ***    Please consider including a link with your blog poem back to the prompt response here at We Write Poems so that others may see and join our community. More participants do make better soup!

I’m deliberately sending my offering early as I’m off on holiday and I’ll miss your deadline!
