Prompt #72, It’s Post Your Poems Day!
better inside out
We Write Poems:
Moving through strong emotion, shame in this particular, to a new and clear experience was the theme for this week’s poem prompt. It was suggested that it isn’t “shame” itself that’s of any special significance, but rather the process of expression and release that allows the emotion to be transformed into something of understanding and purpose. Of course as some say, the way out is through. Were you able to find such an experience in your life to engage with via a poem this week? We acknowledge that this was perhaps a more challenging prompt… meaning if you didn’t fully find a perfect fit for your poem, please, that’s just fine with us. Always our prompts are intended as learning experience, and participation is our first and last wish for us all here. Any and all poem results are appreciated. That said, time now to share your poems with us!
Don’t have a poem yet? Perhaps read a few done by others here, be inspired. There’s still plenty of time to discover a poem for yourself!
Leave the links to your poems in the comments of this post, then go visit your fellow writers’ sites and read their work. Remember to leave only positive comments in the spirit of sharing and not critiquing. We look forward to reading your poems!
Please remember to include a link with your blog poem post that links right back to here, this “Post Your Poems Day”, so that others reading your poem can also share in this community poem experience – maybe even someone new to We Write Poems!
If you are new to WWP, please be welcome to look around and read. The full prompt description you can find under “Recent Posts” on the top right of our page.

Welcome, Mabel!
This prompt got me thinking about
reconciliation
Err, this led me to the book of genesis.
the god of shame
Here’s mine:
Just the “inside out” of the title
Not Everything Mama Said Was Right isn’t so much about shame
I wrote this at 11 pm last night. So much for craft. 😛

Danny, I’m having difficulty finding “remembering.”
This one was hard. I can’t seem to remember, or, I guess, I suppress such memories. That is why, I guess again, the poem is not good enough.

Great prompt – I could have written a book!
I don’t think mine is about expression and release, but here is Shame Flows.
Richard
How deep can shame go?
Alone she stood naked in the light:
A child’s memory
Opps…..try this: A child’s memory</strong.
This poem wasn’t written entirely based on this prompt…but the prompt has been dancing at the back of the brain for a while…as a result, there is some overlap….
