Prompt #56, It’s Post Your Poems Day!
Dancing with Pikus!
We Write Poems:
Write a “Piku poem” was this week’s unusual prompt. A “piku” is a sort of hybrid between a haiku and the first three numbers of pi. It takes the form of three lines:
Line 1, 3 syllables
Line 2, 1 syllable
Line 3, 4 syllables
Read the original prompt for additional details suggested to modify the resulting initial poem.
Thanks again to Tilly Bud for this prompt!
Don’t have a poem yet? Perhaps read a few done by others here, be inspired. There’s still plenty of time to discover a poem for yourself!
Leave the links to your poems in the comments of this post, then go visit your fellow writers’ sites and read their work. Remember to leave only positive comments in the spirit of sharing and not critiquing. We look forward to reading your poems!
Please remember to include a link with your blog poem post that links right back to here, this “Post Your Poems Day”, so that others reading your poem can also share in this community poem experience – maybe even someone new to We Write Poems!
If you are new to WWP, please be welcome to look around and read. The full prompt description you can find under “Recent Posts” on the top right of our page.

I didn’t manage any pikus, but I did write a Moody Limerick, which is also a Limerick-Off. Thanks!

I had fun with this form. Thanks, Tilly, for suggesting it.

Tilly, This really was a fun exercise. I see piku at your site often, and am grateful they were “forced” on me. 🙂

I thought the shifts were cleverly done, Brenda.
*jeez, blogger isn’t responding for eternity*
I’ll likely open on WordPress over the summer, just so you can comment on my blog. LOL I did start a small stones site there a couple days ago to get the feel for it.
Shameless plug: gathered stones
So glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Da da dum, da da dum, da da . . . here!

You know how in slasher films what seems like an innocuous scene makes you think “this will end badly”?
I did try the Piku chain.
Got kinda goofy. Beware spoilers! Jurassic Park Body Count
Okay, I was late posting to last week’s prompt, but not this week: To Their Right (WordPress) or To Their Right (Blogspot).
This was cool. Here’s a Quint-Piku, with ‘accessories’… 😉 Invitation

Wayne, I love your piece, and am glad you went dancing with pi. It was sad, but rich.
~Brenda
Blogspot wouldn’t let me into your link, Wayne. I managed it by clicking on your name. I read your poem, but commenting on blogspot was a bridge too far for me today, so I hope you don’t mind me commenting here. I loved your poem, so sad. Where the sidewalk ends: Shel Silverstein?
vivinfrance, I had the same problem. I shortened the link to http://waynepitchko.blogspot.com and it went there no problem. Then when I tried to leave a comment, I had to try twice before the password entry showed up. Blogspot is making life interesting.
I love the brevity of the form, and the challenge… Thanks, Tilly – great prompt!

Sorry, Wayne: Blogspot tells me that you don’t exist!
My apologies, I totally forgot to post today, life is far too busy,

You know I’m cranky about forms, so the title is logical! Peace, and now I’ll read some of yours. Amy

Thank you so much for using my prompt! I’m chuffed to bits!
I don’t always get to read every contribution but I’ll definitely manage it this week 🙂

Tilly’s the arch-piku-er: you must read these!
Here is an older poem off-prompt.
