Prompt #52, It’s Post Your Poems Day!

May 4, 2011

Take it to the Limit

We Write Poems:
Tell us about your “limits” for this week’s poem prompt. Is there some old fence out behind the barn you’re uncomfortable to cross? Or maybe it is some part of town you shy from entering? Or of course, less literal, more emotional, people or feelings you’d rather, please, not discuss? Maybe on the surface or something deep, or maybe you don’t even understand why. Are there limits to what or how you write? Do you ever step across? How’s it feel on either side of those boundaries? Thank you for giving this your consideration and now’s time to share your results.

Don’t have a poem yet? Perhaps read a few done by others here, be inspired. There’s still plenty of time to discover a poem for yourself!

Leave the links to your poems in the comments of this post, then go visit your fellow writers’ sites and read their work. Remember to leave only positive comments in the spirit of sharing and not critiquing. We look forward to reading your poems!

Please remember to include a link with your blog poem post that links right back to here, this “Post Your Poems Day”, so that others reading your poem can also share in this community poem experience – maybe even someone new to We Write Poems!

If you are new to WWP, please be welcome to look around and read. The full prompt description you can find under “Recent Posts” on the top right of our page.

Thanks for the prompt! My “ignoring limits” limerick is about feeling free to dance badly because we love to dance:

I know we are not supposed to hog the post your poem day, however this one also has to do with limits. I couldn’t resist.
