Prompt #46 Street Art Poem

March 17, 2011

Street Art Poem

Thanks to Nicole Nicholson for this prompt.

This week we have a photo prompt. Nicole stumbled upon the work of an Australian street artist named RONE who creates a variety of striking graphic art on the streets of Melbourne. Take a look at this image of a woman’s face, and describe what impressions it makes for you in a poem to share with us next week.

Come back next Wednesday when you see,It’s Post Your Poems Day!” and leave a link to the poem on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, then please, post your poem in the comment itself.    ***    You are invited to respond to the prompt given here, but if you have something else you’re just itching to share, please feel welcome in doing that. Our first desire here is to encourage you to write and learn and share.    ***    When leaving comments to other’s poems, please be appreciative and encouraging. We are not a poem “critique” site (unless someone specifically asks for that). Be kind with each other (and yourself!).    ***    Please consider including a link with your blog poem back to the prompt response here at We Write Poems so that others may see and join our community. More participants do make better soup!

It’s my first time participating here, I’ve been reading the prompts for a while but I never come up with something to write! =S I write a bilingual blog (Portuguese – English), so to see the English version, just scroll down the Portuguese one. My poem is there already but I understand I must leave the link here next, Wednesday, is that right? See you next week then! ❤

Welcome Kenia! Yes, Thursdays we offer the prompt then give everyone a week to consider and write. (Some of us need more time!) Posting your poem link to the second post the following Wednesday, is where we gather for doing that. That way more people will have the chance to read and appreciate the poem you’ve written.

I have peeked already, and nice poem. Portuguese/Brazilian is a beautiful language (even if I don’t understand it). Look forward to visiting your blog again. ~neil

Says to me gritty and a woman streaking red ink. Just thinking out loud.
