Thursday Prompt #19 Begin With Music

Begin With Music

This prompt begins with a music video, with the lyrics printed on the screen. As you watch the video, choose a line within those lyrics to begin your poem. You may stop the video action at any time by simply clicking on the || symbol at the far left bottom corner of the video.

The line you choose will be the starter line for whatever you write afterward. Expand upon that lyric line in whatever direction you wish to go. Put that line in italics and make sure you cite the source when you are finished. (Name and link as following here.)

The music chosen is upbeat and meant to make the prompt a fun experience. The music video (fireflies – owl city) is located here:

Come back next Wednesday when you see the post, “It’s Post Your Poems Day!” and leave a link to the poem on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, then please, post your poem in the comment itself.   ***   You are invited to respond to the prompt given here, but if you have something else you’re just itching to share, please feel welcome in doing that. Our first desire here is to encourage you to write and learn and share.   ***   When leaving comments to other’s poems, please be appreciative and encouraging. We are not a poem “critique” site (unless someone specifically asks for that). Be kind with each other (and yourself!).   ***   Please consider including a link with your blog poem back to the prompt here at We Write Poems so that others may see and join our community.

Loved twist ending of Disco Ball. I could so relate to the shock/intensity of your poem recalling 9/11 and how the world shared (in groups, privately at our TVs) the agonizing moments.
