Prompt #16: It’s Post Your Poems Day!

August 25, 2010

How many six-word memoirs did you write this week? Did you find it challenging, or did they seem to flow out of you uncontrollably? Share your links to your poems in the comments of this post, then read your fellow poets’ work. This is one of my favourite prompts, so I look forward to reading everybody’s memoirs and leaving positive comments, as you should!

Couldn’t respond on your blog – a beautiful image beautifully spoken in the 6 words preceding it; I especially liked the “If Only” poem as well.

Thank you GW. I had the site temporarily closed as I was doing some editing — it is open now… I will transfer your comment…

Apologies: I posted my link the other day because I didn’t realise you had a specific day for it; rookie mistake!

I wrote each line of my poem with six words. Memoir or not, it works for me:

These were fun. Thank you to those who have already commented after I posted early not knowing exactly when to post–I need to make a poetry site posting calendar for myself! Anyway, here they are again in case you have not seen them yet.

My overall 6-word I wrote some time ago (still feels like the story of my life); wasn’t going to do the subtopics, but in the end, couldn’t resist. 🙂
