Bonus December Prompt 193: A Wordle Made Out of Us

December 28, 2013

Thank you for writing along to these bonus prompts in December. I thought as an extra-special cool thing, the last of these should be a Wordle. And not just any Wordle!

2013 WWP Wordle

The above Wordle was made by feeding the poems written for the first three December bonus prompts into WordCounter (http://www.wordcounter.com) and then picking the fifteen most interesting words out of the top 100. Just to make things even more interesting, I removed the theme words from the previous bonus prompts — “tradition”, “miracle”, and “light” and left the rest of the list. I then fed the list into the lovely Wordle creator (http://www.wordle.net/) and got what you see above. Use as many or as few of the words as you wish in your poem.

Have fun…and have a wonderful, super-duper 2014!

-Nicole

Christmas Morning 2013, Taos, New Mexico
    A mere speck of dust
    Waiting to be swept
    Into action

    In the winter
    When the snow
    Has melted
    Dust comes to life

    Dust is the Queen
    Clotting the moonlight
    The night is dusty
    No longer blue

    The sky
    Is filled
    Creating the
    Reddest
    Sunsets
    In the world

    Trees are covered
    With dust
    The mind wonders
    The eyes are blinded
    The only answer is dust

    Without snow
    Christmas morning
    Is grey with dust

Every time you write, the colors shine through. And you keep making me miss home.

Thank you. I find wordles to be interesting, and especially their creation. So many words one can collect…

Yea, Nicole. Your prompt gave me an idea. I’ll be collecting three words each submitted poem to create a weekend wordle prompt. Starting this week.
