Prompt #142, It’s Post Your Poems Day!
Once upon a time when… and that’s just how fairy tales begin.
We Write Poems:
Hmmm… lovely, this lily pad. Contentment, waiting for a fly. I may not speak a lot, yet “tongue tied” is a description none apply to me! Yummm. And while a friendly sort, why’s that big giant female human getting so close to me? Oh dear! Her mouth is moving so near to me! Am I to become her meal?? But wait, what’s that tingle I feel down to my toes? Mother never said, never gave ribald advice for this sort of… kiss? Oooh, but wait, my fingers, my toes, they’re no longer green, and suddenly I’m feeling rather…
Be it a “frogly” prince or adorable curly-toed witch, which fairy tale character did you choose to inhabit this week? Speak now or forever hold your breath… we can hardly wait to hear your tale wag! Our prompt simply, to write a poem from the viewpoint of a fairy tale character.
Read the original prompt here if you wish. Join the fun!
Please now, share your poem with us. Leave a link to your poem in a comment below. Leave the poem itself if you don’t have a blog. If you have questions about We Write Poems and our prompt-and-poem process, or you’re new here at WWP, please read our about page.
The full prompt description you can find under “Recent Posts” on the top right of our page.

We should do this fairy tale prompt every season. Till we’d exhausted all the characters we’re trying to get under the skin. You know, make the familiar new. Or get more & more into one character…because we’re so into you Mr Froggy Prince!
I’m so glad something came to me. I tried nice and sweet princess types but none of those worked. I guess I’m a wolf at heart? LOL
